We at IUSF recognise and appreciate the spirit of the innovators. However, the Innovations in Services for Urban Poor Program in its own little way, seeks to celebrate these success, and reward the innovators for their efforts. The best entries amongst all eligible nominations received would be short-listed as finalists. The distinguished Jury would finalise the winners through an objective and consultative process.

The Award would comprise a Citation, presented at the hands of national leaders in a gala event. The Award presentation ceremony will provide wide recognition and publicity to the achievements of the winners. Visibility with highest levels of Government, and extensive media coverage is planned for this event. The event will also provide an opportunity to the finalists to showcase and share their experiences. The event will attract participation from – policy makers from Government, representatives of donor / international agencies, private sector, voluntary and civil society, media, professionals and host of stakeholders from related fields. A ‘Handbook of Innovations for Urban Poor’, will be published and released at this event.
The Awards will open new vistas to the winners. The Program will help establish linkages of the innovators with – Central, State and City Governments across India; access to newer markets; access to expertise, marketing and funding support; financial institutions / social venture capital funds, …. All of these building up an enabling environment for large scale replication and scaling up of the innovation. IUSF will also provide opportunities for the innovations to be showcased at regional and national events (workshops, conferences and expositions on urban sector).
Many partner institutions are excited by the potential possibilities of this entire program. We are bringing on board other program partner agencies, which are keen in contributing in rewarding the winners.
